Fireplace sounds for relaxing
A soft, low crackle over the quiet breath of a wood fire. All the coziness of a fireplace, with no smoke and no ash.

Sound: Fireplace by inchadney on Freesound (CC0). Trimmed to a 4-minute loop, highs softened slightly, and level-matched.
What you’re hearing
A home fireplace, recorded in stereo with a pair of Sennheiser MKH 60 microphones. Underneath is the low, breathing sound of the flames, and on top is a soft, low crackle from the wood. We softened the highs slightly so the small snaps stay gentle.
Fire sounds are a little busier than rain or noise, so they suit reading, a slow evening or a cup of tea as much as sleep. If the crackle is too lively at bedtime, switch to rain or waves.
Pair it with a lamp instead of the overhead light. Use the timer if you plan to doze off.

Good to know
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no sign-up, no ads in the player. The file plays from this site, so nothing hands you off to YouTube.
Does it really loop all night?
It loops a 4-minute recording with a soft crossfade where the end meets the start, so it keeps going until you pause it or the timer runs out. Your browser and device have to stay awake and the tab has to stay open.
Is there music or talking?
No. It’s just the fire.
