An even creek, running full after a night of rain, with a low gurgle underneath. Calm and easy to work alongside.

Sound: Tucker Creek after Heavy Rain by lakewoodsound on Freesound (CC0). Trimmed to a 3-minute loop, left and right balanced slightly, and level-matched.
What you’re hearing
This is Lower Tucker Creek in Fayette County, West Virginia, recorded on 13 February 2024 after about 5 cm (2 inches) of overnight rain. The water runs full and even, and the recordist picked the spot for its low gurgle, probably from a hollow under a large submerged rock. Now and then you may hear a bird. We balanced the left and right sides slightly so no one part of the water stands out.
Running water is a friendly middle ground between noise and nature. It covers small distractions in a room but still sounds like somewhere real. Try it for a study session with the timer set to 30 or 60 minutes, and take a break when it fades out.
Want something steadier for deep focus? Brown noise never changes at all.

Good to know
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no sign-up, no ads in the player. The file plays from this site, so nothing hands you off to YouTube.
Does it really loop all night?
It loops a 3-minute recording with a soft crossfade where the end meets the start, so it keeps going until you pause it or the timer runs out. Your browser and device have to stay awake and the tab has to stay open.
Can I use it in a video or project?
The original recording is CC0 (public domain), so yes. Download it from its Freesound page rather than from us.
